Dress Code

Hair must be pulled back and out of the eyes and off the neck - how to ballet bun or french twist here. No dangling necklaces or earrings. Follow dress code for each of your classes.

Dress Codes For Ages 3 through 10:
You must invest in the appropriate color leotard for your child.

Pre-Ballet is a light pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes.
Ballet wrap or pull-on skirt is optional.
- Boys wear fitted white tees, black jazz pants or black ballet shorts, black shoes and black tap shoes.

For Ballet I the dress code is hot pink leotard, pink ballets and black tap shoes.
Ballet wrap or pull-on skirt is optional.

Ballet wrap or pull-on skirt is optional.

Ballet III dress code is a yellow leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes.
Ballet wrap or pull-on skirt is optional.
- Boys wear fitted white tees, black jazz pants or black ballet shorts, black shoes and black tap shoes.

Skirts (optional) should be ballet skirts or short and approved by the teacher. Fluffy tutus are not for class.

Hair MUST be worn securely up at all times, off the neck so that we can clearly see body alignment.

Dress Code for Ages 11 through 12 (Ballet IV, Ballet for skaters):
Ladies wear purple or lavender (black optional) leotards, pink tights (worn inside the leotard), pink ballet shoes and black jazz and tap shoes where applicable (for jazz/tap/modern classes). Short black or pink skirts may be worn as well as snug fitting sweaters or tie sweaters for warm-ups. Hair MUST be worn up at all times, off the neck so instructors can see body alignment. Hair should not whip around so make sure ponytails or braids are up in a bun or french twist. Gentlemen wear white or solid color fitted tees, black shorts or jazz pants, dance belt or athletic support, black ballet shoes, and black or tan jazz shoes.

Ages 13 through Adult (Ballet V, Ballet for skaters):
Ladies can wear black or other color leotards, pink tights (worn inside/under the leotard), pink ballet shoes, black jazz and tap shoes where applicable. Black tights should be reserved for modern/jazz classes only. Convertible tights are needed for pre-pointe, pointe and modern. Pink tights for pre-pointe and pointe.
Dance shorts and short dance skirts may be worn as well as warm-ups in the form of snug fitting sweaters, tie sweaters and leg warmers.
T-shirts, leggings, sweatshirts are inappropriate for ballet class and should be removed before plies & tendus.*

Modern, Contemporar, Jazz, Tap, Acro Dance 
Ladies wear leotards with convertible tights and fitted dance shorts. 
Jazz and tap may wear jazz pants or solid color leggings. You may also wear a unitard. Legs must be covered. Tights are strongly encouraged.

Wear bare feet, ballet, jazz or tap shoes when applicable.
Gentlemen wear white or solid color fitted tees, shorts or jazz pants, dance belt or athletic support and shoes when applicable.

NO EXPOSING OR CAMISOLE LEOTARDS FOR OLDER DANCERS!
Pink tights go under your leotard and in your shoes for ballet.




PreBallet - Ballet V: During ballet class, ballet warm-ups are allowed, for instance: shrugs, leg warmers, ballet  wrap sweaters.  

*Inappropriate dress during ballet class: pants, leggings, capris, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, track jackets, bulky sweaters.  If you are cold and don't have ballet warm-ups there are extra Ballet sweaters in the basket next to the pink trunk that you can wear during class as long as you put them back in the basket.

Never use your dance shoes as street shoes; don't wear them outside.

Cover up your dance clothes when going to and from the studio... throw on pants and a shirt of some sort.
