Registration is online!
Students must register for the appropriate Pre-Ballet--Ballet V class (classes in bold) in order to register for any of the supplementary dance classes.
Adults: We have a beginner ballet class just for you. Or, talk with us about your dance experience and we may be able to recommend some other classes.
Ballet Exams: If you have taken at least 1 year of ballet and are in Ballet III, IV, or V (or are age 9+) and are interested in ballet examinations please talk to your instructor about joining a Cecchetti Syllabus Grade I class in addition to your regular ballet class. Cecchetti grades are NOT the same as school grades.
Examinations take a lot of preparation, study, and commitment. Normally 1-2 years is spent studying per grade. More as you progress through the grades. Learn more here.

Additional Class Requirements:
All students wishing to participate in pointe are required to take at least one ballet technique class each week. At least 2-3 ballet technique classes would be optimal.A word about Pointe Shoes…
Dancing “en pointe” is the dream of every aspiring ballerina. Students must be at least 11-12 years old with 3-4 years ballet technique training and must have strong ballet placement, take pre-pointe and pass a pointe assessment before being allowed to dance in “toe shoes.” It is imperative that growth plates in a dancer’s feet have nearly fully formed before pointe shoes can be worn safely. Dancers who begin pointe work too early or with poor technique suffer needlessly and never truly achieve the grace on pointe that makes it a desirable endeavor. The body is under tremendous pressure when dancing en pointe.
We believe ballet provides the basic technique for many dance forms and helps a dancer become technically proficient.
Ballet III, IV and V students may take jazz, tap, modern and hip hop.
Classes begin and end on time and students need to be on time and dressed for class so that they can be properly warmed up to reduce the chance of injury. Unlike sports and gymnastics, dance seldom causes injury if taught correctly with proper warm-up and technique applied.
Students must attend 80% of their classes to be in performances except in extreme cases due to injuries and long illnesses. This works out to missing no more than 6 classes during the year. Students are invited to make up classes they have missed by taking an upper or lower level class. Hosanna Dance reserves the right to schedule extra rehearsals for performances with proper notice given and at no extra charge to parents. Upper-level students receive extra tutoring and private instruction through these rehearsals at no cost to parents.
